Approach to Therapy
Gentle, grounded, and guided by you.
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. My approach is collaborative, creative, and centered around what works best for you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship struggles, or just feeling overwhelmed, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and seen—exactly as you are.

Trauma-Informed & Nervous-System Aware
I prioritize safety, trust, and regulation in every session. Using a trauma-informed lens means I honor your pace, avoid pathologizing your reactions, and help you understand your experiences through a lens of compassion—not shame. We’ll work with your nervous system, not against it.

Inclusive & Identity-Affirming
I actively affirm and support clients from all backgrounds, with a strong commitment to working with neurodivergent folks, the LGBTQIA2S+ community, and individuals with layered lived experiences. Your identity, expression, and communication style are not only accepted—they're celebrated. I adapt my approach to meet you where you’re at.
Creative, Collaborative, and Client-Led
Some sessions are talk-based. Others include movement, grounding tools, games (especially with younger clients), or creative strategies to explore feelings in ways that feel safe. I draw from modalities like CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and somatic approaches—blending structure and intuition so our work reflects your needs.

Affirming Neurodivergent Care
Therapy that embraces different ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
I welcome autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent clients into a space designed to be flexible, nonjudgmental, and adaptive. Sensory tools, breaks, movement, and alternative communication styles are always welcome.

DBT & ACT
Skills, structure, and acceptance. I use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness—especially for clients navigating intense emotions or overwhelm.
I also draw from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you live in alignment with your values, build psychological flexibility, and gently accept what’s outside your control while still moving forward.

Strength-Based & Person-Centered
You are the expert on your life.
My work is rooted in the belief that you already hold insight and strength—we just work together to uncover it. Strength-based therapy focuses on your resilience, not your deficits, while a person-centered approach means I hold space for your autonomy, individuality, and voice in every session.
EFT & Play-Informed Therapy
Emotionally safe and developmentally aware.
I use Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) to help clients (including families and teens) better understand, express, and regulate their emotions in healthy ways. With youth and teens, I incorporate play-informed strategies to make therapy more engaging, less intimidating, and better suited to their developmental needs.
